What your role and typical day might look like

As a Functional Consultant in digital capability team at Merkle you play a vital role to support our teams and clients to figure out the when, what, where and how to maximise their Salesforce and integrated platforms. Using your knowledge of the core Salesforce platform, business processes and industry experiences, you’ll work with a cross functional team to come up with innovative ways to configure and customise to make it relevant for users and customers alike. This includes gathering requirements, configuring the system, creating technical specifications, testing solutions and training users to ensure smooth delivery and adoption.

Responsibilities include

  • Collaborate with the wider functional and technical consulting teams, and client to deliver agreed outcomes aligned to business goals and requirements in an Agile environment.
  • Understanding the requirements of the business and business processes across various departments such as sales, marketing and finance, and translate the needs into functional and technical specifications.
  • Participate in requirements gathering and design workshops and creating relevant documentation to support project plans.
  • Collaborate with the technical consultants to investigate complex client requirements, testing solutions and ensuring fit for purpose.
  • Documenting changes and creating/delivering training where required.
  • Continuous learning, building and maintaining your Salesforce platform knowledge, delivery methodology and innovations within the industry.

A bit about you

  • Intermediate level experience (e.g. 2 to 5 years’ experience) as a Functional Consultant, or Developer with good functional knowledge, delivering Salesforce solutions.
  • Experience configuring and administration in at least one of the following Salesforce clouds: Sales, Service, Experience, Marketing, Commerce or Analytics Cloud. Any experience with CPQ be a bonus but not mandatory.
  • Relevant Salesforce certifications and tertiary qualification/degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar area of study.
  • Business analysis skills and able to diagnose problems with users, create solutions and documenting.
  • A high-level understanding of technical components such as Apex triggers, UI components (HTML/JavaScript/CSS), Lightning Web Components (LWC) or Aura would be beneficial but not required.
  • A high-level understanding of integration/API/ESB development - Rest, Soap, MuleSoft be beneficial but not required.
  • Experience working in Agile SDLC environments. Knowledge/experience in DevOps, ITIL, ITSM and CI/CD pipelines will be highly beneficial but not mandatory.
