About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer II to join our client’s Site Capacity team. This role is crucial for ensuring that new processes and equipment are compliant with both local and global standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining process control systems to meet the dynamic needs of customers, business, and regulatory requirements. This position offers the opportunity to work on groundbreaking projects that enhance operational efficiency and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with local and global project teams to ensure process designs comply with all standards.
  • Develop interface agreements and align requirements with equipment vendors.
  • Create and execute plans to maintain and improve process control systems in coordination with manufacturing schedules.
  • Develop and manage expense budgets for system maintenance and improvements.
  • Maintain automation standards, specifications, and detailed maintenance plans.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) during audits and inspections related to process control systems.
  • Coach and train colleagues and stakeholders on automation and process control best practices.
  • Utilize tools for systematic problem-solving, process improvement, and project management.
  • Ensure all changes adhere to strict quality and risk management protocols.
  • Support various corporate and local IT initiatives and projects.

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of six years of engineering experience in process-based manufacturing, utilities, and/or packaging systems.
  • Proficiency in PLC, SCADA, MES, Oracle, and MS SQL systems.
  • Strong project management skills with a proven track record of successful project execution and completion.
  • Excellent planning and organizational abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively in a team environment.

Physical & Other Requirements:

  • Ability to occasionally move equipment and/or supplies weighing up to 35 pounds unassisted.
  • Must be able to lift objects up to 45 lbs. with assistance.
  • Ability to work in different physical positions, including climbing ladders and working in elevated or confined spaces.
  • Availability to work in environments requiring the use of hearing protection and other safety gear.
  • Flexibility to work outside of standard hours as needed in a 24/7 manufacturing operation.
  • Willingness to travel internationally up to 15% of the time.
