New ideas are all around us, but only a few will change the world. That’s our focus at JPL. We ask the biggest questions, then search the universe for answers—literally. We build upon ideas that have guided generations, then share our discoveries to inspire generations to come. Your mission—your opportunity—is to seek out the answers that bring us one step closer. If you’re driven to discover, create, and inspire something that lasts a lifetime and beyond, you’re ready for JPL.
Located in Pasadena, California, JPL has a campus-like environment situated on 177 acres in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains and offers a work environment unlike any other: we inspire passion, foster innovation, build collaboration, and reward excellence.
The National Partnerships Office (NPO), within the Astronomy and Physics Directorate (APD), is responsible for the development and management of non-NASA reimbursable work done by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
NPO was established to develop a sustaining business base through expanded relations with non-NASA sponsors. The office focuses on leveraging NASA technology to solve problems of national significance for other agencies, and in so doing creates a more secure world and improves the quality of life by investing in technologies and collaborating with other agencies, industry, and academia. The office’s mission is to apply JPL’s unique skills and assets to solve problems of national significance in a manner that is synergistic with JPL’s NASA mission. To accomplish this, NSTA develops collaborations with elements of the nation’s space program: national defense, civil, commercial, national security, information and data science, and tech transfer and intellectual property. Each of these sectors is responsible for specific development of partnerships that expand and enhance the JPL/NASA technology base.
Today, NPO develops and manages a broad portfolio of studies, technology development, space instrumentation and mission development across civil, commercial, national defense and military, and national security space program areas. NPO is seeking a senior experienced leader to lead the National Defense and Military Program Area.
