We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced 2nd Shift Custodial Supervisor to join our team.
Reports To: Shift Supervisor / Janitorial Manager
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
Pay: $15-$17 an hour
Position Summary:
The 2nd Shift Custodial Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating custodial operations during the second shift, ensuring cleanliness, sanitation, and overall facility maintenance in designated areas. This position supervises custodial staff members and works closely with the team to maintain high standards of hygiene and compliance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support a team of two custodians during the second shift.
- Delegate tasks effectively to ensure completion of all scheduled cleaning duties.
- Provide on-the-job training and ensure all employees comply with safety and operational procedures.
- Monitor work performance, provide feedback, and escalate any concerns to management.
- Ensure proper use of cleaning equipment and materials, addressing any deficiencies or needs for maintenance.
- Carry a radio and respond to all calls promptly.
Custodial Duties:
Locker Rooms & Restrooms:
- Oversee cleaning of male locker rooms and 3rd-floor men's restrooms.
- Complete night tasks: disinfect changing rooms, dust lockers, clean mirrors, empty trash, and mop floors.
- Restock dispensers (soap, paper, hand sanitizer, etc.) in restrooms.
Employee Facilities:
- Clean and disinfect employee break room: tables, counters, vending machines, microwaves, and restock supplies.
- Clean and disinfect corridor bathrooms, replenish supplies, and empty trash.
Exterior & Common Areas:
- Oversee exterior building cleanliness.
- Disinfect and polish stainless steel in hallways.
- Dust windows, ceilings, and doors in common areas.
General Maintenance:
- Address spills and leaks promptly.
- Distribute bouffant beard covers throughout the plant.
Communication & Reporting:
- Maintain clear and professional communication between employees and management.
- Document shift activities, issues, and completed tasks accurately.
- Send timely emails and reports to manager regarding maintenance needs, safety concerns, or operational updates.
- Ensure proper handover of information between shifts to maintain continuity in custodial operations.
Training & Compliance:
- Ensure all custodial team members complete required training assignments on time for both Pritchard and Alcon.
- Maintain accurate task-specific documentation and training records.
- Follow all company policies, including safety and sanitation regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Experience: 1-2 years of custodial experience preferred, with at least 6 months in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills
- Ability to delegate tasks efficiently
- Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift
- Comfortable working with cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Requirement: Male required due to male only rooms.
