A Brief Overview
The Manager, Service Line Development and Revenue Cycle, has full responsibility to identify, design and implement key business strategies to grow and expand Women's and Children's Services throughout the UH system. Provides direction and oversight of revenue cycle projects within WCS. The Manager leads key strategic projects and works collaboratively with WCS senior leadership.
The Manager, Service Line Development and Revenue Cycle will report formally to the Chief Operating Officer , Rainbow Babies and Children's and MacDonald Women's Hospitals. The Manager will have overall responsibility for the successful development and implementation of detailed business plans outlining the strategic, programmatic and operational aspects of multiple service lines as assigned. In addition the Manager will identify and lead revenue cycle projects in coordination with operational and Rev Cycle leadership.
More specifically the Manager will be accountable for the following: Planning and Budgeting (30%); Service Line Decision Support and Reporting (20%); Revenue cycle projects (20%); and Clinical Portfolio Growth (30%).
What You Will Do
- Develop and lead the implementation of business plans for expansion and growth on the main campus, wholly owned regional sites, community hospitals and potential joint venture partnerships; with an understanding of current market conditions and share, focus on service line and sub-service line development
- Identify and lead revenue cycle projects focused primarily on front-end billing: charge capture, denials prevention and management and revenue optimization
- Develop outcomes measures pertaining to quality, volume, revenue, and margin
- Monitor and analyze operational metrics to assess efficacy and efficiency of care as well as resource utilization
- Partner with Institutional Relations and Development to create proposals for interested donors
- Collaborate with management in policy formation, program and capital planning, quality improvement and medical outcomes monitoring

Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in business/finance, healthcare administration or related healthcare field (Required) and
- Master's Degree in business, healthcare administration or related field (Preferred)
Work Experience
- Significant knowledge, experience and expertise with computer applications (Windows, Outlook, IDX, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) (Required) and
- 5+ years of progressive healthcare experience (Required) and
- Revenue cycle experience strongly (Preferred) and
- Spreadsheet, graphing and analysis experience and familiarity with hospital mainframe systems such as EPSi and Soarian desired. (Preferred) and
- Experience in assessing market opportunities, developing business plans and implementing programs to respond to such opportunities (Required) and
- Knowledge and experience with CMS/Joint Commission standards and other regulatory and accreditation requirements (Required) and
- Experience developing Self-Service Business Intelligence dashboards from relational databases such as Tableau or MS Power-BI strongly (Preferred)

- In-depth knowledge of healthcare trends, finances, provision of care and health care delivery system (Required proficiency)
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills to gather and assess data and generate meaningful strategies for problem resolution (Required proficiency)
- Demonstrated project management and effective leadership skills (Required proficiency)
- Proven fiscal management abilities including budgetary control, expense reduction and new revenue generation (Required proficiency)
- Superior interpersonal skills, communication and presentation skills (Required proficiency)
- Knowledge and experience of healthcare business analysis and industry practices. (Required proficiency)
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel. (Required proficiency)
Licenses and Certifications
- Certified Project Management Professional (PMP-PMI) (Preferred) and
- Registered Health Information Administration (RHIA) via AHIMA (Preferred)
- Certified Health Finance Professional (CHFP via HFMA). (Preferred)
- Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA via AHIMA) (Preferred) and
