Job Summary:

In partnership with the Creative Director the Creative Producer is the Creative team leader responsible for achieving and maintaining the artistic and creative vision and for ensuring the implementation of that vision through the project life cycle.

Under the direction of the Quest team leadership and in partnership with the sustainment Creative Direction, the Creative Producer is the day to day manager of the Creative team and is responsible for the development and management of all project-related systems, aesthetic, show and guest-experience elements through the project life cycle. Managing the execution of all creative deliverables and working closely with and collaborating with the Project Leaders to achieve common and cohesive objectives. The Creative Producer acts as the day-to-day manager of the creative team on assigned projects, supervising the workloads of any assigned staff, vendors, collaborating artists, and consultants and determining strategies to ensure the successful completion of all assigned show elements.

The Creative Producer must be proficient in guiding and articulating the concepts and the experiences that define the project's creative vision and to motivate the involved teams who are responsible for providing input and support to its development. They must be steadfast and strategic as they work within Meow Wolf’s highly ambitious, collaborative model.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define scope of creative deliverables, adhering to the scope, schedule, and budget defined by the Project Leadership.
  • Develop and manage resource plans, estimates, and schedules for creative deliverables in collaboration with the project team and exhibition leadership
  • Ensure all creative team members, including creative direction, narrative, graphics, concept art, collaborating artists, and consultants are executing all creative deliverables on schedule and within the agreed to budget
  • Effectively manages creative budgets and schedules throughout the whole scope of the project in collaboration with Project Teams
  • Collaborate with team leadership to prioritize creative scope of project and creative delivery options
  • Responsible for the overall scope and budget for collaborating artists for each quest/exhibition. Partners with the internal production and operations teams on execution and delivery of the quests.
  • Communicate clear and concise project creative updates to all Project Leadership
  • Maintains presentation and communication materials
  • Maintains phase creative documentation as applicable. Blue Sky, Concept, DD.
  • Support quest team in driving participant experience mapping process, with focus on diversity, access, and inclusion
  • Hires and manages outside creative consultants as required by the needs of the team. Writes scopes of work including exhibits and clearly defines deliverables for creative consultants then working with procurement to contract for their services

Required Qualifications

  • BA or BS in theater, film, design or entertainment and art oriented field
  • Thorough knowledge of creative process and deliverables
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills, organizational as well as creative thinking.
  • Excellent understanding of Location Based / Themed Entertainment industries and their production pipelines
  • 10+ years of experience in creative enterprises as well as experience in Location Based/Themed Entertainment and experience shepherding high budget multimedia projections from ideation to completion.
  • A proven leader who can pull together artistic and creative professionals from many walks of life and focus them on a set of shared goals and deliverables.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, organizational as well as creative thinking.
  • Excellent understanding of Location Based / Themed Entertainment, video game industries and their production pipelines.
  • Thorough knowledge of creative process and deliverables
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, that can successfully work across multiple departments and divisions to advance our artistic and storytelling initiatives in new and exciting ways.
  • Must be steadfast and strategic as they work within Meow Wolf’s highly ambitious, collaborative model.
  • Basic knowledge and experience with immersive group entertainment and/or art curation
  • Previous film and/or theater production experience and/or themed entertainment and art curation
  • Basic knowledge of scope, schedule and budget planning and mitigation
  • Effectively articulate creative intent and artistic vision to all levels of the Meow Wolf organization
  • Develop strong partnerships across all division of project departments
  • You must possess an in-depth knowledge of core platforms and programs as they will be utilized on a daily basis:
  • Google Suite
  • Keynote
  • Gantt charts
  • Miro
  • Asana

Work Environment and Physical Demands

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed must be representative of the knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, licensure, experience, and/or ability required.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and scanners. This position also works in an indoor setting with exposure to noisy environments, dim lighting, strong visual effects including strobing lights, special effects, fog machines and small and/ or enclosed spaces.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical ability to walk, stand, take stairs/slides/elevators, and navigate the elements during the day and night. Employee may be required to remain in a sitting or standing position for prolonged periods, and repeat motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.

The employee will comply with company and OSHA standard workplace safety protocols. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 9a.m. to 5 p.m. or 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Supervisor Responsibilities:

This position does not require supervisory responsibility.

Travel

This position will require some travel (10%-25%)
