Senior Java Developer

As a Senior Java Developer your role is pivotal in designing and implementing robust software solutions within the Life and Annuities Insurance domain. With a focus on Spring Boot and Java the candidate will ensure seamless integration and functionality across platforms. This hybrid role requires proficiency in technical skills and domain knowledge contributing to innovative solutions that enhance business processes.

In this role, you will

  • Design and develop software solutions using Spring Boot and Java to meet business requirements within the Life and Annuities Insurance domain.
  • Implement and maintain design patterns to ensure code quality and reusability across projects.
  • Apply JUnit5 for testing and validation of software components to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to integrate YAML and JSON configurations for seamless data exchange.
  • Lead version control using GIT to track changes and maintain code integrity.
  • Supervise XML data processing to ensure accurate information flow within applications.
  • Apply Spring Framework principles to enhance application architecture and scalability.
  • Apply Linux for deploying and handling applications to ensure stable and secure environments.
  • Engage in hybrid work model balancing remote and on-site collaboration to optimize productivity.
  • Communicate effectively in English to articulate technical concepts and collaborate with team members.
  • Impact society by creating efficient systems that support the financial security of individuals through life and annuities products.
  • Meet industry standards to ensure high-quality deliverables are maintained.
  • Drive innovation by exploring new technologies and methodologies to enhance software development processes

What you’ll need to succeed (required skills)

  • 6 to 9 years of proven experience specializing in SQL Server Spring Boot Microservices Spring Core REST Web Services and Core Java
  • Possess a strong understanding of JUnit5 for effective testing strategies.
  • Demonstrate expertise in design patterns for creating scalable and maintainable software architectures.
  • Have proficiency in YAML and JSON for configuration management and data interchange.
  • Exhibit advanced skills in Spring Boot and Java for robust application development.
  • Show competence in using GIT for version control and collaboration.
  • Display knowledge of XML for data processing and integration.
  • Understand the Spring Framework for building enterprise-level applications.
  • Have experience with Linux for application deployment and management.
  • Bring domain expertise in Life and Annuities Insurance to tailor solutions to industry needs.
  • Adapt to hybrid work environments balancing remote and in-office tasks effectively.
  • Stay updated with industry trends to incorporate innovative solutions into projects.
  • Prioritize quality and compliance to deliver reliable and secure software solutions.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2-3 days a week in a client office in Toronto, ON.
