Job Summary

Responsible for maintaining, managing and coordinating lab equipment and supplies, supporting characterization and testing in development projects, and supporting the evaluation and implementation of new technologies.

Essential Functions:

  • Manages supply orders, inventory and storage of all supplies and equipment used in the health laboratories.
  • Maintains computer equipment and software.
  • Assist in monitoring utilization of medical services to assure cost effective use of medical resources through processing prior authorizations.
  • Maintains a chemical inventory and Material Safety Data Sheets.
  • Assures lab and supplies are secured and managed in compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Review patient specimen samples to ensure CLIA requirements.

Qualifications

Education

Associate's Degree Medical Technology required or Bachelor's Degree Medical Technology preferred

Licenses and Credentials

Experience

Experience in a Medical Laboratory Science Setting and with Medical Technology 3-5 years required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of basic techniques in microbiology preparation and maintenance of cultures.
  • Knowledge of standard laboratory procedures.
  • Knowledge of general OSHA regulations pertaining to the use, storage, and disposal of non-hazardous and hazardous materials or substances.
  • Experience in inventory control systems, monitoring and ordering of supplies.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in the operation of computers and application software to include Microsoft Office Suite.
