Personal Care Applications Lab Assistant

Summary:

As a Lab Assistant on the Personal Care team, you will conduct routine laboratory procedures and activities to support application development.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Laboratory scale product scale up and perform stability
  • Conduct routine laboratory procedures directed at the evaluation of materials and products targeted for use in various end markets and applications in Personal Care
  • Using standard test methods and laboratory equipment, this would involve the characterization of raw materials, the formulation and processing of a range of different kinds of products, and the assessment of product performance and stability relative to key benchmarks
  • Conduct all necessary calculations and record experimental data and observations in an electronic laboratory notebook
  • Independently analyze, compile, and present experimental findings
  • Always maintain a safe and orderly laboratory work environment and contribute to the efficient running of the lab
  • Completes other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position demands physical stamina, requiring frequent sitting, standing, bending, stooping, crouching, twisting, turning, lifting, and movement within the facility. Walking on various surfaces and maintaining balance are essential. Strong sensory abilities, including hearing, sight, and clear speech, are necessary. Regular lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds are required. Most positions necessitate passing a fit test and wearing a respirator.

The work environment is a laboratory setting. Adaptability to a traditional business environment is essential. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Qualifications:

The following are required for the role

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Material Science, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • Working knowledge of chemistry principles in a laboratory setting.
  • Adaptability with an ability to quickly learn new experimental methods and procedures
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining careful attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Working knowledge of standard computer applications (PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)

The following are preferred for this role:

  • Experience in formulation and evaluation of personal care materials
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety requirements
  • Self-motivated individual with a high level of commitment and technical curiosity

What We Offer:

Base Pay Range: $35 - $51
