We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative researcher to advance the development of next-generation multimodal sensor systems through materials integration, sensor array design, and performance validation. This role supports NTU’s strategic mission in pushing the frontiers of intelligent sensing technologies by enabling new capabilities in high-sensitivity, scalable, and robust sensor platforms. The successful candidate will contribute to interdisciplinary research that bridges materials science, electronics, and data-driven systems—delivering impact in applications spanning health, environment, and robotics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, fabricate, and integrate multimodal sensor arrays tailored for chemical and olfactory sensing applications.
- Develop and implement advanced materials and structures for high-sensitivity, selective sensing within complex environments.
- Conduct rigorous experimental validation of sensor performance, including sensitivity, selectivity, stability, and repeatability.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to incorporate sensor arrays into wearable and robotic platforms.
- Assist in grant writing.
- Maintenance of lab or equipment or supplies that include procurement and liaison with suppliers.
- Publish high-quality research articles in leading journals and present findings at international conferences.
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to lab and equipment maintenance as needed.
Job Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering, Materials Science, Bioengineering, or a related field.
- Strong track record of research in multimodal sensors, neuromorphic electronics, or electronic skins
- Strong track record of publications in high-impact journals.
- Experience in sensor fabrication, materials synthesis, FPCB design, and COMSOL simulations.
- Proficient in integrating soft sensors into wearable or robotic systems, with understanding of neuromorphic and bioinspired designs.
- Hands-on experience with interdisciplinary research spanning materials, electronics, and intelligent systems.
- Demonstrated ability to design and fabricate device prototypes for innovative applications.
- Capable of conducting independent research while effectively collaborating in a multidisciplinary environment.
