Primary Objective of Position: Leads a specific product engineering team using engineering principles to assist in the design, creation, and transfer of product to manufacturing for production. Ensures compliance with all product engineering development processes and standards.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Leads a team in designing, modeling, and testing of recreational motor vehicles protypes.
- Oversees team’s efforts in improving the usability of components used in product.
- Coordinates the collection of product component costs.
- Ensures that production methods used in the manufacturing process of an engineered product can be done so in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Plans the execution and completion of projects on time and to standards.
- Provides support and guidance to an engineering team and helps them solve problems and make decisions.
- Ensures standards, procedures, and best practices are followed to ensure quality and compliance with regulations.
- Works with other engineering team leaders and internal department leaders to align engineering activities with organizational goals.
- Identifies and reports mitigating potential risks to Engineering Manager.
- Resolves issues that arise during project execution.
- Continues to look for ways to improve processes and efficiencies within their team.
- Leads their team in analyzing the product manufacturing process to identify and resolve potential design production problems.
- Provides effective and timely guidance and instruction to the engineering team in a manner that enables the team to effectively perform their job responsibilities.
- Hires, assesses performance, and develops the engineering team members.

Education & Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Prior relevant work experience within a product engineering team, preferably in a supervisory capacity.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications and computer-aided design (CAD) platforms
- Work experience in one or several areas related to body engineering/vehicle structures, chassis/powertrain/driveline systems, interior systems (cockpit/trim/infotainment), electrical engineering, and industrial design.
- Working knowledge of NX and Teamcenter.
