Position Description
The McGill University Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences invites applications for a full-time position as a member of the Contract Academic Staff (CAS) as a Clinician-Teacher or Clinician-Educator at the rank of Assistant Professor (Clinical) at the St. Mary’s Hospital Centre site. This position does not confer eligibility for tenure.

Job Duties
The successful candidate will be appointed to clinical practice in the Department of Medicine, Division of Division of Cardiology at the CIUSSS-ODIM (Montreal West Island Integrated University Health and Social Services Centre), St. Mary’s Hospital Centre site.

As a Clinician-Teacher, your major non-clinical focus will be on teaching the next generation of physicians, including both didactic and clinical teaching.
As a Clinician-Educator, you will focus on education research of sufficient caliber to publish in peer-reviewed journals or education administration with a focus on leading/developing world-class training programs.
Clinical responsibilities will include attending on the general cardiology consult service/coronary care Unit, active participation in the general cardiology clinic as well as the heart failure clinic, reading/performing echocardiograms (including trans-esophageal and three-dimensional echo), exercise stress testing, stress echocardiography, Holter, and ECG interpretation.
The successful candidate will also be expected to be actively involved in all aspects of McGill’s academic mission (i.e., quality improvement research, teaching, supervision of graduate students and residents, and involvement in academic and administrative committees).
