Are you a dedicated and experienced Systems Engineer ready to support our mission of delivering high-quality healthcare through innovative technology solutions? In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain critical IT systems that ensure the secure, efficient, and reliable operation of healthcare applications and infrastructure. You will work closely with clinical and administrative teams to understand their needs and translate them into robust technical solutions that enhance patient care, data integrity, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in systems engineering, a deep understanding of healthcare IT environments, and a commitment to improving health outcomes through technology.
Responsibilities:
- Complete assigned project tasks with minimal supervision and contribute to timely project delivery.
- Independently troubleshoot basic technical issues and provide input on more complex problem resolution.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve shared goals and support successful project outcomes.
- Adapt to changing priorities and demonstrate flexibility in approach to meet evolving team and organizational needs.
- Communicate clearly and professionally in both written and verbal formats to support collaboration and project execution.
- Apply knowledge of moderately complex technologies to support system operations and enhancements.
- Proactively seek learning opportunities to expand technical skills and stay current with industry trends.
- Follow established procedures for system maintenance and upgrades; assist senior staff with planning and execution.
- Support disaster recovery planning and contribute to business continuity efforts.
- Actively seek feedback from senior team members and incorporate it to improve performance and technical capabilities.
Shifts: This is a Monday-Friday position with 8AM – 4:30 PM shifts. You may need to travel between off-site UPMC Washington facilities (only 5%)
Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 year degree (or higher) in Information Systems (or related field) is preferred
- 5+ years of experience in Information Systems preferred
Qualifications:
- Typically has 2+ years’ experience with complex systems environments through education or practical experience.
- Demonstrated ability to perform standard IT procedures and protocols.
- This position may be required to maintain a 24/7 off hours support as part of a rotation within the team.
- The frequency varies based upon the number of colleagues in the rotation.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- Act 31
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
