Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and self-motivated Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Tester to join our team. The PCB Tester will be responsible for testing and repairing printed circuit boards to IPC-A-610 Class 2 standards, using various test equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, a quality-conscious mindset, and a commitment to meeting customer needs and on-time delivery. Additionally, this role will involve training others and ensuring that the highest standards of performance are maintained.

This is an 18-month commitment to both the position and the shift. Reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this role.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform in-circuit and functional testing of circuit boards.
  • Repetitively test and calibrate PC boards.
  • Utilize all necessary test equipment for testing and repairs.
  • Read and understand bills of material, process routings, layout drawings, and circuit and wiring diagrams.
  • Visually identify components, values, and polarities.
  • Download and verify software code.
  • Troubleshoot and correct issues when products do not meet performance specifications.
  • Prioritize workload based on customer needs and project timelines.
  • Ensure all testing and repairs meet IPC-A-610 Class 2 standards.
  • Hand solder to IPC-A-610 Class 2 standards to touch up and make minor repairs to PC boards.
  • Use a computer to access and enter work documentation.
  • Collaborate effectively with co-workers in a team environment.
  • Ensure daily and weekly production goals are met.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow company policies and rules regarding Electrostatic Discharge (ESD), quality, and safety standards.
  • Cross-train and work in other PCB assembly areas as required.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including up to 50 hours per week from Monday to Saturday.
  • Use basic troubleshooting equipment such as digital multimeters.
  • Read and interpret schematics to assist in basic troubleshooting.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to pass drug screen and background check requirements.
  • 40-hour Miller Electrical Safety Class (FVTC) certification.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in PCB assembly or equivalent technical field.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to navigate software for documentation and reporting.
  • Ability to solder to IPC-A-610 Class 2 standards.
  • Ability to visually differentiate colors.
  • Practical Fundamental Electronics Certificate (or equivalent).
  • Intermediate computer skills.
