Job Description

Application Management focuses on the end-to-end support of software applications throughout their lifecycle, from deployment and monitoring to ongoing maintenance and performance optimization, ensuring alignment with business goals and consistent value delivery.

Within this space, DevOps practices add automation of routine operational tasks, CI/CD pipeline management, infrastructure as code, observability through logs and metrics, and the adoption of scalable and reliable system patterns.

DevOps engineers in this domain serve as a key link between development and operations teams, enabling faster delivery cycles while upholding stability, performance, and security compliance.

Qualifications

Role Summary – DevOps Engineer for Data & Analytics (Azure)

This role focuses on enabling and supporting CI/CD, deployment automation, and operational stability for Azure-based data and analytics platforms. It includes deploying and managing pipelines, enforcing security practices, and collaborating closely with data engineering and QA teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and manage CI/CD pipelines for ADF, Databricks notebooks, Spark jobs, and Power BI (via Azure Pipelines).
  • Automate provisioning and orchestration of data workflows (Databricks, ADF, Event Hubs, Spark).
  • Implement monitoring (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics) and cost tracking across pipelines.
  • Apply security controls: RBAC, Key Vaults, data encryption (Voltage), and secure deployment practices.
  • Partner with QA and engineering to support test environments and rollout readiness.

Required Experience

  • 5+ years in DevOps roles, ideally within data & analytics environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, Terraform, and scripting (Python).
  • Prior involvement in deploying large-scale ETL/data pipelines.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and Databricks environments.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Core Technical Skills – Must Have

  • Azure DevOps (YAML pipelines, service connections)
  • Azure Data Factory (ARM/template deployments)
  • Databricks (notebook CI/CD, dbutils, versioning)
  • Scripting: Python, Bash or similar
  • Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights
  • Azure Storage (ADLS Gen2), Event Hubs
  • Power BI (workspace deployment, REST API)
  • RBAC, Key Vault, Git (repo strategy, branch & PR management)

Nice to Have

  • Azure CLI, PowerShell for on-demand resource management
  • Purview integration for lineage and data classification
  • Voltage SecureData or similar tokenization/masking frameworks
  • Scalable secrets management strategies
  • Cost visibility tools: Azure-native or third-party (e.g., CloudHealth, FinOps)
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes
