The Yale School of the Environment (YSE) invites applications for an open-rank tenured or tenure-track faculty position with research and teaching interests in the broad area of temperate forest resilience.
The successful candidate’s research may encompass areas such as forest health, disturbance ecology, forest restoration, and the use of adaptive forest management to improve forest stand and ecosystem resilience. The ideal candidate's work should be policy-relevant and contribute to the interdisciplinary, collaborative networks across Yale. The successful candidate will be deeply engaged with The Forest School within YSE and teach courses that support YSE's Society of American Foresters (SAF) accredited master’s program.

Candidates whose work has the potential to foster collaborations with state, federal, and non-governmental agencies are of particular interest. Candidates with collaborative experiences in interdisciplinary settings that span the natural, physical, and social sciences will be reviewed favorably. Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. in a relevant field, which may include forestry, environmental science, ecology, or natural resource management.
