Job Summary:

We are looking for a seasoned z/OS System Automation Analyst to design, implement, and maintain automation solutions across our z/OS environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in IBM System Automation, NetView, and GDPS, with a strong understanding of z/OS architecture and operations. This role is critical in streamlining system operations, enhancing reliability, and reducing manual intervention through intelligent automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement automation solutions using IBM System Automation, NetView, and GDPS to support system recovery and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain automation for job scheduling, resource management, and system recovery in a Parallel Sysplex Data Sharing environment.
  • Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex z/OS infrastructure issues.
  • Collaborate with systems programmers, operations teams, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of automation solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for automation scripts, configurations, and procedures.

Required Experience & Skills:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience implementing and configuring z/OS System Automation in a Parallel Sysplex environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of z/OS architecture, including JES2, DB2, CICS, and IMS.
  • Proven experience with IBM System Automation, NetView, and GDPS tools.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as JCL, REXX, and CLIST.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical troubleshooting and problem resolution efforts.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work across cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • IBM certifications in System Automation or z/OS technologies.
  • Experience in high-availability or disaster recovery environments.
  • Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
