We are currently seeking a Mgr - Business and Systems, IFC Center to join our Films Group team based at the IFC Center.

JOB SUMMARY

In this position you will work closely with the General Manager to oversee business operations of a leading NYC art house cinema in its daily activities and its DOC NYC festival, with the goal of building awareness with the industry and public, growing audiences and increasing revenue from a variety of sources: ticket sales, concessions, merchandise, memberships, marketing opportunities, community partners, etc.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Finance/Accounting - IFC Center:

  • Monitor and track film screening settlements database, ensuring accurate and timely payments to distributors, including collection of vendor paperwork, creation of invoices, and processing payments via Oracle systems
  • Maintain detailed records of film-related financial transactions and report tracking to Accounting monthly
  • Reconcile monthly Travel & Expense reporting for company corporate card charges

Data Tracking, Analytics and Systems:

  • Maintain existing and develop additional systems for data tracking and analysis related to audience attendance, box office performance, concessions sales and film programming
  • Generate regular reports and provide insightful analysis to inform decision-making processes
  • Track special event & repertory grosses tracking to monitor industry trends and successes
  • Develop and implement best practices for administrative procedures in collaboration with the General Manager, lead Theater Manager and admin staff

DOC NYC:

  • Train full-time and seasonal staff on festival systems; collaborate in builds of new templates, databases and documents
  • Hire and oversee festival box office director; ensure smooth launch of ticket sales; oversee daily sales tracking for festival, as well at sales tracking for off-festival events
  • Oversee settlement of online revenue share for festival films
  • Track revenue for e-blast sales for budgeting purposes

Event management:

  • Run lead on special events as needed, including weekends and holidays when necessary, with possible occasional Q&A moderating

QUALIFICATIONS (Required & Preferred)

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5-7 years of experience at a film festival, art house cinema or independent film company
  • Knowledge of and interest in independent film
  • Familiarity with Airtable or other project management software systems
  • Familiarity and experience with Microsoft Office Products
  • Experience with Oracle is a plus
  • Knowledge of budget management and foundational accounting principles
  • Comfort with public speaking is a plus
  • Knowledge of Agile is a plus

The base compensation range for this position is $65,000 to $80,000 commensurate with experience.
