Job Overview & Essential Functions

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. As MHC continues to grow, we have an opening for a Parts Counter Leadman. The Parts Counter Leadman supervises and coordinates the daily activities of the inside parts sales area. Assists customers and mechanics in securing parts.

• Assigns and coordinates personnel functions, bin responsibilities, scheduling (phone/counter coverage of work force, lunches, and weekends), and other required tasks.
• Reviews and approves all special sales, all policy adjustments, and questionable returns within guidelines established by the Parts Manager.
• Disseminates all communications and assures implementation.
• Assures proper procedural handling of all transactions.
• Encourages and promotes suggestive selling through short, daily, on the job training (features/advantages/benefits) with the counter and support personnel.
• Assists in building and equipment maintenance, and housekeeping tasks as necessary.
• Promotes safe work habits. Reports any safety and security violations to the Parts Manager.
• Suggests new product sales opportunities and organizes promotions of the monthly flyer.
• Assumes responsibility for development and rotation of displays.
• Assures that all paperwork flows smoothly from the counter to the Inventory Control Coordinator.
• Controls timecards and overtime excesses.
• Operates a terminal console and other equipment in fulfilling duties.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

• Requires parts counterman experience.
• Must be customer oriented.
• Must have excellent communication skills and be able to solve problems.
• Must have a good understanding of cores and obsolete inventory.
