We are seeking a Software Developer specializing in Embedded application development for the GA-EMS Radar Technologies Directorate. In this role, the Software Engineer will be tasked with designing and implementing embedded software applications for a Radar development program. The Software Engineer will report to the Senior Manager of Software Engineering within the Radar Technologies Directorate

This is a hybrid role that requires an in-office presence based on project needs, including lab integration and in-person collaboration meetings.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Collaborate as a member of a multi-disciplinary scrum team on the architecture/design/code/test and integration of a variety of radar applications
  • Architect, design and implement new embedded software solutions for a Radar development program
  • Develop complex, high-performance applications in C/C++
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and C++ best practices.
  • Collaborate with systems and hardware engineering to define computational needs and architecture (CPU, GPU, FPGA, hybrid)
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues and performance problems.

Job Qualifications:

  • Typically requires bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or PhD in computer science/engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; nine or more years of experience with a bachelor’s degree, seven or more years of experience with a master’s degree, or four or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
  • Experience developing real-time embedded C/C++ applications.
  • Lab integration experience and comfortable with lab test equipment: signal generators, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with PetaLinux and Xilinx SoC/SOM applications
  • Experience with Radar systems
  • Experience with development tools including Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Jira, Confluence
  • Experience using AI to assist with software development tasks
  • Active Secret Clearance
