Location Description

Michael Foods, Inc. located in Lenox, Iowa and often called the "Pearl of the Prairie" is where you can find small town living, focused on family and friends, with big city amenities not far from reach in Des Moines, Omaha, and Kansas City. Located in southwest Iowa, Taylor county, with a population of around 1400, the Lenox area reaches far beyond the city limits with beautiful and productive fields of corn, beans, and other croplands. Lenox holds an amazing four day Rodeo every July and is home to a beautiful 36-9 hole golf course, several fishing and boating lakes, great area hunting, a beautiful city park with swimming pool, and many picnic parks. The MFI location in Lenox produces primarily pre-cooked egg patties. Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Sanitation Lead is responsible for overseeing the sanitation crew to ensure effective and timely cleaning, maintaining food safety and quality standards, and complying with safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Management: Create team line-ups, manage staffing, and schedule days off.
  • Training: Lead daily shift meetings, monthly FSQ and safety training, and train new employees.
  • Sanitation Oversight: Ensure adherence to GMPs, safety regulations, and proper use of PPE.
  • Chemical Management: Monitor chemical usage, perform inventories, and handle bulk offloads.
  • Documentation: Complete and organize sanitation documentation, provide corrective action reports.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety and food safety policies, maintain SQF Level 3 certification.
  • Support: Assist in defining processes, provide coverage for the supervisor, and participate in team meetings.

Additional Duties:

  • Report any conditions affecting food safety or quality.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers/vendors, or employees.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages, and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
  • Ability to interpret various instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
