The Position

The person in this position will work with product managers and the business stakeholders to enable and guide the design and development of a low code/SFDC solution and platform that delivers an integrated view of the business processes and associated business landscape for the purpose of identifying current and future opportunities for synergy, integration and knowledge sharing. The solution architect will align with the enterprise architects and other solution architects to realize the vision of the domain and promote platform thinking, reusability and interoperability.

The candidate is expected to lead and control cross-solution architecture design questions with vendors, internal and external partners and design authorities.

Therefore experiences with ownership of cross-solution designs and leadership skills to lead a diverse team to get to a common design solution proposal is essential.

This person is also responsible to lead and work with the ART to ensure delivery. Provides the business a window to key innovative technology trends and evolution of technology within the vertical industry, which has the potential to accelerate the fulfillment of the business strategic vision. Through use of dashboards and governance boards, provides continuing communication to provide the business an overview of the progress of current IT innovation(s).

Scope of Activities

  • Provides strategic consultation to assigned DIA (Roche Diagnostics and Diabetes Care) line-of-business (LOB) Field sales customers in defining or designing business processes, functions and organizational structures, as well as using customer requirements in researching, identifying and internally marketing enabling technologies.
  • Assesses current state of solutions, defines future state needs, identifies gaps and recommends new technology solutions and strategic business execution improvements
  • Consistent participation and architectural alignment for runway within PI Planning
  • Business process engineering/re-engineering
  • Facilitate stakeholder sessions with personnel across all disciplines in the company to identify and define requirements, assess business processes and evaluate technology solutions
  • Conduct solution architecture research, PoCs, PoVs, feasibility assessment and facilitate solution application selections
  • Formulate business and logical data and solution architectures comprised of software, network, hardware and integration designs
  • Conducts impact assessments and mitigation plans
  • Works closely with Enterprise Architects on defining long term architecture vision, integration patterns and review of technical portfolio.
  • Creates and owns the Solution Architecture documentation
  • Develops IT Strategy & Roadmap consistent with the overall strategic needs of the business division.

Skills and Credentials:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience
  • 7-10 years of professional IT experience. The person must have demonstrated an ability to think strategically and translate plans into operational excellence.
  • Deep expertise & business knowledge in the Pharma/Biotech/Dia/information industry and associated processes
  • Implementation expertise in major applications such as SFDC, Reltio, Integration solutions including Mulesoft
  • Expertise in multiple technologies domains (e.g. networks, systems, databases, security, etc.)
  • Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies
  • Remains “evergreen” and keeps up-to-date with technology trends and emerging technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and articulate a vision for one or more technology domains
  • Proven experience of creating architecture designs using a formal architecture framework methodology – TOGAF, Zachman.
  • Ability to understand the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situations
  • Strong leadership skills and experience in managing large groups. Person must have demonstrated ability to work across organizations.
  • Demonstrated effective oral, written, public, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to frame complex issues and persuade a wide and diverse audience
