Amazon is one of the largest employers in the world. Empowering our managers with the right tools, insights, mechanisms, guidance, and policies is critical to how we lead at scale. The Amazon Leadership eXperiences (ALX) team is at the heart of this mission. The work we do sit right at the intersection of technology, leadership, and people. We’re building tools, driving programs, or leading thought leadership that empower hundreds of thousands of managers across Amazon to lead more clearly, act faster, and support 1+ million employees worldwide more effectively
We’re seeking a Principal Product Manager – Technical (PMT) to lead a portfolio of complex talent management services and capabilities. In this role, you will be our thought leader in the talent management space, drive the end-to-end strategy, product vision, and execution for critical tools used by Amazon’s diverse population of managers — from frontline leaders to senior executives. You will collaborate deeply with partners across HR Business Partners (HBRPs), Talent Management, sister product teams, engineering, UX, science, data, and external vendors.

Key job responsibilities
You’ll be responsible for:
A day in the life
As a Principal Product Manager – Tech in the ALX team, you’ll split your time between strategic thinking, deep problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration. You’ll start your day reviewing product performance data, customer feedback, or insights from recent launches. You’ll meet with UX designers to refine experiences for frontline managers, partner with scientists to explore GenAI-powered personalization, and align with engineering on delivery timelines.
You’ll work closely with HR Business Partners, Talent Management leaders, journey product teams, and internal customers to understand pain points across the manager lifecycle — from onboarding to performance, growth, and succession. You’ll lead working sessions to align cross-functional partners, and you’ll frequently write and drive narratives for product strategy, investment trade-offs, and leadership reviews (e.g., 3YP, OP1/2, MBRs, QBRs). You’ll navigate across domains — tech, science, people — to turn big, ambiguous problems into cohesive platform strategies that scale globally.
Each day, you’re helping shape how Amazon’s hundreds of thousands managers lead more effectively.
