The Neuroscience Department seeks candidates to teach one or more sections of NEUR 101L: Introduction to Neuroscience I: Cells and Circuits (Lab. Screening of applicants for the Fall 2025 semester will begin immediately and will continue until the open position is filled. Job responsibilities: Instructors will teach one or two 2-hour sections of lab weekly. Before each lab, instructors will attend a paid weekly lab instructor meeting previewing the week’s activities and troubleshooting as needed. During labs, instructors will deliver short prepared lectures on background concepts, demonstrate equipment setups, clarify critical instructions, and supervise hands-on experiments. Lab instructors also grade weekly assignments using rubrics provided and hold remote office hours.
Minimum qualifications:
A Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Neuroscience or a related field (e.g. Biology, Psychology, Chemistry, Computer Science, or Engineering) is required; advanced ABD candidates will also be considered. The ideal candidate will demonstrate evidence of teaching experience and effectiveness at the university level and an understanding of and commitment to support the mission of the University. Experience with laboratory equipment, scientific writing, research mentorship, project management, and other forms of experience may be beneficial.
