Position Overview:

Partnering closely with HR and plant leadership, the Human Resources Generalist will be instrumental in delivering a comprehensive range of HR services to the organization. This pivotal role encompasses talent acquisition, benefits management, safety program support, training and development initiatives, payroll processing, audit compliance, and employee relations tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with HR operations, including benefits administration, payroll support, and facility management.
  • Lead hourly talent acquisition, encompassing recruitment, retention strategies, and aligning candidate skills with job requirements.
  • Support safety initiatives by providing training, conducting toolbox talks, managing communications, performing audits and inspections, maintaining records, and ensuring adherence to all regulatory and corporate safety standards.
  • Cultivate relationships with educational institutions, organizations, and associations to build a strong recruitment pipeline.
  • Direct the temporary and temp-to-hire processes, from sourcing and training to performance evaluations.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to employees, supervisors, and management in resolving workplace issues.
  • Collaborate on the creation and delivery of training programs for local company policies and practices.
  • Coordinate and facilitate employee relations activities.
  • Foster a positive, employee-focused company culture that prioritizes Quality, Safety, Continuous Improvement, and high performance.
  • Manage employee benefit inquiries and issues.
  • Partner with management to address employee relations matters, offering coaching and counseling to both managers and staff; collaborating with legal counsel as needed.
  • Implement, administer, and interpret corporate HR policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Establish strong relationships across all organizational levels; ensure successful integration of new hires through a robust onboarding program.
  • Develop and deliver tailored training sessions; evaluate training effectiveness through feedback mechanisms.
  • Support the annual compensation review process to ensure equitable decisions regarding promotions, bonuses, and salary adjustments.
  • Manage overall headcount and strategic staffing plans.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

Education and Experience:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources or related field
  • 3 or more years of relevant Human Resources experience, in a manufacturing environment. Food processing industry experience is desired

Competencies and Skills:

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong multi-tasking and presentation skills to various levels of management
  • High energy with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Bilingual English and Spanish required

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to work within temperature-controlled environments (Heat/Cold)
  • Walk on slippery wet surfaces.
  • Hand/eye coordination.
  • Handling (holding, grasping).
  • Seeing/depth perception.
  • Walk/stand 100% of shift.
  • Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Occasionally lift and/or carry loads of up to 50 lbs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
