Sr Director Program Management - Oracle Cloud Infrastructure

OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) is currently in need of a Senior Director of Program Management to join our fast-growing team at our Nashville HQ. As an ideal candidate you will provide coaching, leadership and guidance to a team that possess technical expertise to business acumen to help quickly resolve business blockers and implement net-new programs. You will be a critical member of the Nashville leadership team and help recruit and develop the people who will build the foundational culture of our new headquarters.

This person will lead a team of TPMs that track technical issues, effectively communicate project status, recommend changes, decide tradeoffs for competing priorities, and demonstrate ‘act now and iterate’. They will define strategies, regularly lead executive meetings to present their progress, share project information with stakeholders, and drive business growth through data-driven decision making. In addition, this specific role will be accountable for meeting the strategic, operational performance, quality and budgetary objectives set for the entire business unit, while assuring the highest level of customer satisfaction. You will work closely with other leaders to ensure proper utilization and performance goals are met, while being accountable for overall organizational success.

The successful candidate will be well organized and metrics-driven, showing strong initiative and thriving in fast-paced and constantly changing environments. This role will support Oracle Cloud Infrastructure in creating scalable programs, repeatable processes and will be forward deployed to lead high-visibility special projects across Oracle business units.

Specific responsibilities for this role include (but are not limited to):

  • Operations: You will drive the rhythm of the business, including reviews, leadership meetings, strategy sessions while thinking holistically and strategically about key business processes, organizational effectiveness and efficiency, employee engagement, and organizational communications.
  • Strategic Initiatives: You will create, implement and track strategic plans, developing KPIs and success metrics where required.
  • Process Improvement: You will identify, drive and track progress of process and tooling improvement initiatives.
  • Team Builder: You will recruit, mentor and grow a team of strong technical and people leaders and align their ownership areas as best suited to the broader organization.
  • Force Multiplier: Success is dependent on cross-functional and cross-organization relationships; good relationships start with empathy and trust. You will identify stakeholder relationships to build and effectively partner with to facilitate the success of your role and the organization’s mission.
  • Culture and People: You will work closely with HR and the leadership team to identify, analyze, develop and execute strategies to improve team health and culture as indicated by employee feedback, from personal observation, or other employee listening systems.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Highly skilled with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong ability to write concise proposal documents
  • Ability to work in ambiguity, manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and deliver
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and experience interacting with both business and development/engineering staff at all levels
  • This is an in-person role at Oracle’s Nashville headquarters

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud infrastructure services
  • Experience with cloud software and platform services
  • Ability to think broadly and strategically
  • Highly analytical, technically proficient, and able to learn new tools and software quickly
  • Experience using agile software development practices and associated tooling

Manage people for product development programs or projects involving department or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of a product or computer-based system through the design process, and into a finished state for external customers. Plan and direct resource schedules as well as project budgets. Monitor the product/program/project from initiation through delivery, interfacing with customer on technical matters. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the product/program/project on schedule and within budget constraints. Assign and monitor work of systems analysis and program staff, providing technical support and direction. Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $161,700 to $338,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
