The Driver will be responsible for transporting full goods and raw materials between our manufacturing facility and warehouse facility located in proximity. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth flow of products to maintain our production levels.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to haul full goods and raw materials between designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer to ensure safety and compliance.
- Load and unload materials, ensuring proper handling and weight distribution.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including quantities, dates, and destinations.
- Communicate effectively with the Kit Plant and Warehouse teams to coordinate pickups and deliveries.
- Follow all safety regulations and company policies while operating vehicles.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly.
- Adhere to DOT regulations and company safety standards at all times.
- Flexibility to work overtime and non-standard hours as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education/Certifications and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid Class A CDL License.
- Minimum of 2 years of CDL driving experience (preferably in manufacturing or warehouse settings).
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety requirements.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to lift and maneuver heavy goods (up to 50 lbs.).
- Familiarity with food safety regulations (FSA, USDA) and quality assurance practices (GMPs).
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
- Work involves daily and frequent exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, odors, darkness and/or poor lighting, noise, and vibration. Seasonal exposure to weather elements to include, but not limited to, extreme temperatures, wetness, and humidity.
- Work environment involves daily exposure to physical risks and hazards, such as working around mechanical equipment, mechanical hazards, forklifts, chemical hazards, electrical hazards, fire and explosives hazards, communicable diseases.
- Position requires the ability to stand; walking around office, warehouse, and plant; lifting and carrying packages up to 50 pounds; utilizing fine dexterity; and reaching, kneeling, crawling, and twisting on a daily basis.
