Machinist 2
Machinist 2 will work with Swiss-type Citizen CNC machines to produce high-precision components. This mid-level role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in Swiss CNC machining who can set up machines, perform offsets, troubleshoot minor issues, and ensure consistent part quality with minimal supervision.
Status: Hourly Non-Exempt Position Type: Full-time (Occasional Overtime Required)
Hours: 40 hrs Schedule: M-F
Reports to: KeyLink Production Manager

Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up and operate Citizen Swiss-type CNC lathes to produce complex, tight-tolerance components.
- Interpret detailed engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine machining operations.
- Adjust machine settings, perform offsets, and change tooling as required to maintain part specifications.
- Inspect in-process and finished parts using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, optical comparators, etc.).
- Maintain accurate production records, including job travelers, inspection logs, and material usage.
- Collaborate with quality control and engineering teams to optimize machining processes and resolve technical issues.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on machines and tooling.
- Identify and recommend continuous improvement opportunities for process efficiency, tool life, and cycle time.
- Train or assist in guiding entry-level machinists (Machinist I) when needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical school or apprenticeship preferred.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience operating and setting up Citizen Swiss-style CNC machines.
- Proficient in blueprint reading, and the use of precision inspection tools.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to make real-time adjustments to maintain part conformity.
- Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., medical, aerospace, automotive) is a plus.
- Familiarity with G-code and conversational programming a plus.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with multiple Citizen models (e.g., L-series, M-series, A32, etc.)
- Knowledge of bar feeders, part catchers, and high-volume production environments
- CNC program editing experience is a plus
