Senior Data Governance Analyst

The Senior Data Governance Analyst will play a critical role in managing and governing the data assets of the company to ensure data accuracy, integrity, security, and availability across the organization. Working closely with business stakeholders, IT, and data management teams, the role focuses on creating, maintaining, and enforcing data governance frameworks and standards. The candidate will bring deep experience in data governance, preferably within a Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) and/or Agricultural Business environment, to ensure data supports business objectives, analytics, and decision-making.

Essential Functions

  • Data Governance Strategy:

Develop, implement, and enhance data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure data quality and compliance across the organization.

Lead data governance initiatives and establish best practices in line with industry standards.

Data Quality Management:

Define and monitor data quality metrics (e.g., accuracy, completeness, timeliness) and implement strategies to resolve data quality issues.

  • Conduct data profiling and assessments to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Master Data Management (MDM):
  • Oversee the governance of master data (e.g., product, customer, vendor) to ensure consistency across systems and departments.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish data ownership and stewardship processes.

  • Data Cataloging and Classification:

° Develop and maintain a centralized data catalog for critical business data assets.

Ensure proper classification and security levels are applied to sensitive and regulated data

  • Collaboration and Training:
  • Serve as a liaison between business, IT, and analytics teams to ensure data governance requirements are understood and implemented.
  • Provide training and awareness on data governance policies, roles, and responsibilities.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, OCPA) and internal security policies.
  • Mitigate risks related to data usage, access, and sharing through robust controls.
  • Reporting and Insights:

Develop regular reporting on data governance metrics, progress, and any identified issues.

  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership for data-driven decision-making-

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, Data Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Master's degree a plus.

  • 5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or data quality roles, preferably within a CPG or manufacturing environment.

Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA DMBOK).

  • Hands on experience with data management tools such as Collibra, Informatica, Syniti, Manta, or similar platforms. Hands on experience with reporting tools like BoxerBL
  • Solid understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and compliance best practices.

Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex data concepts to nontechnical audiences.
