Role Description
- We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced QA Automation Developer to oversee the quality assurance strategy and execution for the GFCIU project. The QA Senior Developer will be responsible for defining test strategies, managing manual and automated testing efforts, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions that support the AFC department’s mission to combat financial crime.

Your key responsibilities
- Perform manual and automation testing, with a strong focus on automation.
- Design, develop, and maintain reusable business components for test plans, test cases, test data, test schedules, and automation scripts.
- Create and maintain test automation frameworks tailored to project needs and provide execution-level support to QA and development teams.
- Prepare and execute automated test scripts/suites, ensuring accurate recording and reporting of test results.
- Publish testing schedules, execution reports, and defect metrics to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Functional Analysts, and stakeholders to understand business requirements and functional/non-functional specifications.
- Retest defect fixes and validate that issues are resolved effectively.
- Analyze, document, and communicate test results clearly and concisely.
- Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business users and downstream systems.
- Provide actionable insights and data to support fact-based decision-making.
- Lead a small team of QA developers as and when required
Your skills and experience
Automation & Framework Expertise:
- Strong understanding of Automation Framework Architectures and Design Patterns.
- Experience with Spring, Maven/Gradle, and Cucumber BDD.
- Hands-on experience with Core Java 8 and Selenium/Selenide.
- Proficient in JavaScript for debugging and refactoring.
- Experience with NodeJS and Protractor for end-to-end testing.
Testing & Tools:
- Solid foundation in manual testing and core software testing concepts.
- Experience with RESTful API testing and tools like Postman or REST Assured.
- Proficient in SQL for data validation and analysis.
- Familiarity with defect tracking tools such as HP ALM, JIRA, or similar.
- Understanding of testing across the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
DevOps & Agile:
- Experience working in Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD environments.
- Familiarity with Continuous Integration systems like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to proactively initiate and maintain effective working relationships with team members and stakeholders.
