What is the opportunity?

To join an expanding and successful franchise as a member of the Australian Fixed Income Sales team. You will have responsibility to develop and grow your assigned institutional client franchise by employing your market knowledge and existing coverage experience across a suite of RBC Global Markets (“GM”) products.

What will you do?

  • Support Head of Australian Fixed Income Sales to execute the overall AUS sales strategy and achieve wider team goals / objectives.
  • Achieve individual sales budget plan as agreed with Head of AU Fixed Income Sales.
  • Clients - establish, maintain, and grow domestic client relationships.
  • Products A$ - Flow Rates Cash, Derivatives, IG Credit, ABS and Structured Products.
  • Products Offshore - work with offshore partners to identify and grow NA Rates and IG Credit as well as more quantitative solution opportunities.
  • Market Colour - Work with onshore/offshore GM partners with franchise feedback to help drive transaction origination.
  • Cross Referral Opportunities - work with broader GM stakeholders to identify complimentary cross referral business/client growth opportunities - DCM, Central Funding, Research, FX Sales, Cash Equities; Investment Banking.
  • Support, mentor, and develop junior team members as required to help them achieve both individual goals; contribute to wider team goals.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Degree educated
  • A thorough understanding of fixed Income markets; their drivers, standards, and products.
  • A good knowledge of behavioral economics as it applies to financial markets.
  • Existing institutional client coverage exposure.
  • Relevant customer facing sales skills.
  • Sound mathematical knowledge and an ability to think logically.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, across a range of tasks and mediums.
  • Ability to effectively use systems and technology such as Bloomberg etc
  • An ability to work effectively and collaboratively both individually and within a team that may be geographically dispersed.
  • A solid understanding of regulatory requirements relevant to the role.
  • Ability to assist in the advancement of business plans and ability to produce/ deliver technical presentations.
