Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain database systems to ensure optimal performance and data integrity.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance, including troubleshooting and resolving database issues.
  • Perform regular database backups and implement disaster recovery procedures to ensure data availability and minimize downtime.
  • Develop and implement security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.
  • Collaborate with software developers and system administrators to ensure seamless integration of database systems with other applications and infrastructure.
  • Analyze and optimize database structures, queries, and indexes to improve system performance.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to end-users, assisting with data-related issues and inquiries.
  • Conduct regular database capacity planning to anticipate future storage requirements and ensure scalability.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in database technologies, recommending and implementing improvements as appropriate.
  • Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold the firm’s respectful and courteous work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven work experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of database management systems (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server) and related tools.
  • Proficiency in database design, normalization, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with database security and data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery procedures, including disaster recovery planning.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
