Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain database systems to ensure optimal performance and data integrity.
- Monitor and optimize database performance, including troubleshooting and resolving database issues.
- Perform regular database backups and implement disaster recovery procedures to ensure data availability and minimize downtime.
- Develop and implement security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.
- Collaborate with software developers and system administrators to ensure seamless integration of database systems with other applications and infrastructure.
- Analyze and optimize database structures, queries, and indexes to improve system performance.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end-users, assisting with data-related issues and inquiries.
- Conduct regular database capacity planning to anticipate future storage requirements and ensure scalability.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in database technologies, recommending and implementing improvements as appropriate.
- Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold the firm’s respectful and courteous work environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven work experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of database management systems (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server) and related tools.
- Proficiency in database design, normalization, and performance tuning.
- Experience with database security and data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Familiarity with backup and recovery procedures, including disaster recovery planning.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
