We are on a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Continuous Improvement Manager

This role will be involved in focusing on enhancing organizational effectiveness by identifying, analyzing, and implementing Lean Manufacturing strategies to optimize and reduce waste. Will lead cross-functional teams, conduct data analysis, and facilitate training to create and foster a continuous improvement culture within the organization.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops, implements, and maintains a Continuous Improvement Program based upon Lean principles that enhance all aspects of performance (safety, customer value, quality, and productivity).
  • Leads Continuous Improvement events to target and eliminate waste, identifies employees to build a core group of Continuous Improvement leaders.
  • Drives, tracks, and provides regular updates on Igloo-wide Productivity efforts.
  • Uses Lean tools such as Value Stream Mapping to identify, quantify, and direct improvement efforts.
  • Drives the use of Visual Management tools, 5S, Kaizen events, SMED, 5 Whys and other lean tools throughout Operations.
  • Manages a team of technicians focused on fixture builds supporting production needs and ergonomic workspaces.
  • Supervise and lead a group of Lean Engineering team.
  • Facilitates Kaizen events to achieve specific goals of Continuous Improvement and teach others the principles of Lean.
  • Works closely with Operations management team and supervisors to establish Lean practices that empower sustainable Lean practices that empower employees, accelerate change, and enable personal and team development.
  • Develops standard work instructions, standard operating procedures, and training materials. Drive the use of the Igloo Manufacturing Operating System (IMOS).
  • Formulates and recommends manufacturing processes, procedures, layouts, and material handling methods to minimize waste.
  • Develops robust, reliable, and cost-effective automation solutions to standardize work and reduce overall costs.
  • Leads the process engineering efforts around all manufacturing processes, to include blow molding, injection molding, vacuum forming, assembly, and foaming.
  • Develops engineering resources through the cross-training of individuals within the various engineering groups.
  • Drives innovation (improved product performance and reduced cost) through materials research and development.
  • Develops ergonomic solutions to reduce risk of injury in the workplace.
  • Manages and works closely with outside partners and suppliers on auxiliary equipment development in the support of both new product launches and productivity gains.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

A suitable background would be a solid experience within the following qualifications and experiences:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or Technical related Engineering.
  • Experience: 5-8 seven years of experience in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement position experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement productivity in the manufacturing area.
  • English language skills: Able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Math skills: Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Physical Demands: General Office environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management.
  • Outstanding communication skills: ability to communicate with all levels of management.
  • Excellent creativity, innovation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong Microsoft Office expertise including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access.
  • Mechanically inclined with excellent visualization skills.
  • Highly flexible and able to react quickly to changing project requirements.
  • Dependable, consistently follows through on commitments.

  • Knowledge of methodologies like Lean Six Sigma.
  • Knowledge of DOE (Design of Experiments).
  • Experience with project management software; experience with CAD.
  • Experience in alternative materials and processes.
  • Knowledge of Oracle or related software.
  • MTM, time-study or work measurement experience in rate setting.
  • Basic Ergonomics and Anthropometrics Principles.
  • Auto Cad or plant layout software expertise.
