More about the role

This is an exciting job opportunity for you to light the way as a Senior Java Development Engineer in Pampisford, Cambridge with Signify.

What you’ll do

• Designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions using Java, Spring Boot and Restful API technologies for Street Lighting & other Smart City CMS.
• Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code compliant with coding standards using TDD.
• Conducting code reviews to ensure code quality and performance.
• Troubleshooting and debugging software applications to resolve issues.
• Implementing best practices for software development, including design patterns and coding standards, collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements and develop technical specifications and staying current with Java-related technologies and industry trends.

More about you

While we value and appreciate all applicants, we believe that the following experience and skills will be needed to shine brightly in this job opening:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field combined with over 6 years of experience as a Java developer, specialising in enterprise-level applications.
• Strong proficiency in Java programming language and related frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot, Hibernate).
• Over 4 years of professional experience with web development frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.
• Good understanding of the Object-Oriented Programming Concept (OOPS) using Java or Python.
• Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., Postgres, MySQL, Oracle) and SQL and experience engaging with stakeholders across business, technical teams, and management to gather requirements, identify tasks, provide estimates, and meet production deadlines.
