Position Overview:

Georgia State University’s Instructional Innovation and Technology (IIT) division is seeking a skilled professional to join our vibrant and growing team as an Audio Visual Engineer, Associate. The Audio Visual Engineer, Associate serves as an Associate Producer within the Broadcast and Event Services Team, part of the Learning and Production Environments group. Reporting to the Assistant Manager, this role supports the design, integration, and operation of AV technologies across Georgia State University’s major event venues, including the University Club, Center Parc Stadium, and Convocation Center.

Key Responsibilities:

The scope of responsibilities for this position will include but is not limited to the following essential duties:

1. AV Technology Operation & Support

  • Operate and support intermediate-level AV and broadcast technologies, including AV system design, configuration, and troubleshooting
  • Provide direct AV production support for broadcast events in collaboration with University Events and GSU Athletics within IIT-supported major venues

2. System Design & Integration

  • Assist in discussions on holistic design principles for event and production environments
  • Support the convergence of technology and environmental solutions to implement best practices
  • Assist with the installation, commissioning, and operation of AV systems in event and production spaces

3. Innovation & Workflow Development

  • Research and develop new interactions between emerging technologies
  • Create and refine workflows and AV enhancements for event and production environments

4. Networking & Device Management

  • Apply intermediate-level networking skills to integrate and manage network-connected AV and broadcast devices

5. Cross-Division Collaboration

  • Collaborate with the Broadcast and AV Systems Administration divisions to support their operational duties

Qualifications

:

Minimum Hiring Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and one year of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:

Preference may be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the Minimum Qualifications, possess the following:

  • 2+ years of experience in event or production technology environments
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP network technology
