Functions as a Nutrition Assistant to provide nutrition services to low risk WIC participants: pregnant women, breastfeeding women and caregivers of infants and children. Includes collection and assessment of anthropometric, hematologic and dietary information. Provides counseling, appropriate WIC food package, and follow up nutrition education based on risk assessment. Must meet state requirements for training. • Will also be trained as Program Assistant, and as such will be responsible for running the front office-receiving clients, issuing checks, answering phones, scheduling appointments. Responsible for financial screening of clients and entering information so nutritionist can complete the appointment. Explains usage of checks to clients with store and food list, and makes confirmation calls daily.
