The primary purpose of this role is to manage the team doing the day-to-day Identity and Access Management (IAM) business operations of the IAM function and ensure the efficient delivery of identity services, IAM controls and adhere to governance processes. This role will drive and steer the overall operations of the business function for IAM.
About the role
- Developing and executing IAM operational strategies that align with Allianz Australia’s objectives.
- Leading the team responsible for daily IAM operations and ensuring the effective execution of access controls.
- Driving growth by focusing on operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identifying essential team competencies and implementing targeted training and upskilling programs.
- Acting as a change champion by supporting and managing transformation projects within IAM Business Operations.
- Collaborating closely with IAM Governance teams to ensure compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
- Monitoring team performance, tracking metrics, and using data to find areas for improvement.
- Managing budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning to support IAM Business Operations.
- Promoting best practices, staying updated with the latest IAM technology trends, and fostering cross-functional collaboration.
- Identifying and escalating risks or issues related to IAM processes to the appropriate teams for timely resolution.
About you
- Demonstrated 5-7 years’ of experience in Identity Access Management, cyber security or IT operations with at least 3 years in a team lead/scrum master role.
- Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills with the proven ability to manage a team, processes and operations.
- Demonstrated ability to partner and collaborate effectively with stakeholders to establish strong professional relationships and influence outcomes.
- Analytical and critical thinking capability to interpret a range of data, identify patterns, trends and links that inform judgements and solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with clarity, impact and influence.
- Strong understanding of IAM concepts, including authentication, authorisation, provisioning, role-based access control, and related processes.
- Demonstrated knowledge in identity lifecycle management, access management, and privileged access management.
- Experience with IAM platforms such as Entra ID/Azure AD, OneIdentity, ForgeRock and understanding of IAM protocols and standards such as SAML, OAuth, SSO and MFA.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements and standards such as PCI-DSS, ISO 27001 and ability to design IAM solution that comply with these standards.
- Outcome and customer focused with highly developed problem-solving skills, combined with and curious and creative mindset.
- Self-starter, with the ability to plan and prioritise effectively, organise tasks and manage competing priorities and demands.
- Understanding of the general insurance industry is highly desirable.
