3rd Shift: Monday - Friday 9:00pm Start
Purpose
The Sanitation Technician is responsible for the general cleaning of the warehouse, offices, restrooms, break rooms and exterior grounds of the Distribution Center.
Responsibilities
- Gather debris and trash such as cardboard, tape, shrink wrap, paper and damaged product resulting from distribution functions, taking items to designated areas for re-coupe or disposal
- Track dumped product for proper inventory adjustments and report numbers to the inventory department
- Sweep, mop and dust warehouse areas including but not limited to break rooms, restrooms, offices and exterior grounds
- Maintain pest control stations as required by SAL policy
- Fill out required paperwork for job completion tracking
- Safely operate heavy machinery such as pallet jacks, sit down forklift, floor scrubber, and reach trucks
- Adhere to company policies, standards and best practices
About You
- Must be 18 years of age
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Successful Completion of Powered Industrial Truck Operators Training (PITOT) certification required. (Training provided by the company)
- Attention to detail and have strong communication skills in English
- Must be able to count accurately, match and write numbers and positive work history including safety and attendance
- Strong work ethic
- Team spirit, self-motivated and initiative to support the needs of a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work required shift schedules and varying days of the week including holidays and/or weekends
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand, bend, walk, kneel, squat, turn, reach, pull, push and lift up to 85 pounds, in a fast pace environment for extended period of time
- Regularly works in freezers, coolers and refrigerators in temperatures as low as -15 degrees Fahrenheit
- Must have the ability to stand, walk and / or move about for extended periods of time
- Requires the ability to push, pull, grasp, twist and use sawing motions for extended periods of time
