Job Description

  • Address any safety concerns in functional area
  • Compile and stratify data to identify sources of process waste and inefficiencies
  • Utilize a formal focused improvement methodology to lead process and quality improvement projects within functional area to improve plant profitability
  • Monitor and trend process key performance metrics to identify and address any process abnormalities and improve statistical capability
  • Develop, justify, and manage small capital projects
  • Serve as technical expert in functional area to troubleshoot and resolve any process-related performance issues
  • Act with a sense of urgency to remedy any process-related issues impacting product quality or process efficiency
  • Compile and present formal presentations pertaining to process performance metrics
  • Work with the Maintenance & Engineering Departments to resolve any recurring equipment breakdown causes and improve equipment reliability through effective PM tasks
  • Lead cross-functional project teams including salary and hourly personnel to achieve project goals in specified time frame
  • Work with equipment and material suppliers to address any performance or quality-related concerns
  • Develop and maintain ISO-controlled documents within functional area
  • Work with Product and Quality Engineers to address any customer quality concerns or complain, implement corrective actions, and respond to issues utilizing customer complaint database

Qualifications

  • Must Have: Minimum B.Sc. degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited university
  • Must Have: Proven track record of a problem-solving mindset
  • Minimum of five years of engineering experience, preferably in the textile, automotive or glass industries
  • High energy person who thrives in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work and function with a broad range of personalities and skill sets
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment that reacts quickly to changes in customer and market demand
  • Ability to utilize data to prioritize efforts and set focus
  • Hands-on attitude
  • Experience utilizing formal Root Cause Analysis (RCA) techniques
  • Ability to use statistical process control software
  • Proficient in e-mail
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Minimal travel required

Desired but Not Required:

  • Proficiency in Wonderware
  • Proficiency in Statgraphics
  • Experience in fiberglass industry
  • Experience with capital project development and management
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing techniques
  • Experience utilizing Desktop Intelligence
