Project Financial Controller

We are looking for a Project Financial Controller who is analytical, proactive, and detail-oriented to join us in our Global Project Controls team, based in Braine-l’Alleud, Belgium.

About the role

As a Project Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health and strategic alignment of large-scale investment projects. Your work will directly contribute to the realization of our corporate strategy, by enabling sound financial decision-making and ensuring that projects are delivered efficiently, transparently, and in line with business objectives. You will help build a world-class project control framework that emphasizes not only cost control and forecasting, but also strong governance and accountability.

Who you’ll work with

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, and execution, as well as global functions such as Finance, Program Management, and Business Excellence. Together, you will align financial processes with strategic goals and ensure robust project governance.

What you’ll do

• Prepare and update project budgets and forecasts
• Monitor and control project costs and cash flow
• Identify financial risks and escalate critical issues early
• Develop tools for transparent cost reporting
• Ensure compliance with financial policies and targets
• Ensure compliance with financial policies, governance standards, and performance targets
• Provide clear financial updates to stakeholders

Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills

• Degree in finance, economics, or a related field
• Experience in cost control for large, complex investment projects
• Strong analytical and numerical skills
• Familiarity with project tools and financial systems (SAP is a plus)
• Excellent communication in French and English
• Ability to work independently in a matrix environment
