Job Description Summary:

What you need to know about the role:

The Integration Engineer is a key member of the integration team who provides guidance, consultation, and best practices during the integration phases of any project. You will need to be a dynamic individual with fast, innovative thinking skills, exceptional technical skills, and solid business acumen. As the Integration Engineer, you will be expected to use your technical and problem-solving skills to help merchants seamlessly implement solutions that our consumers and merchants will love.

The role requires internal cross-team participation with key internal stakeholder teams such as Sales, Account Managers, Product, Engineering, Risk, Compliance, Identity, etc., to address specific integration requirements or new product features.

Travel requirements are minimal. The role is based on a hybrid working model, with a minimum of 2 days required in the office (central London). You will need to have the right to work in the UK without sponsorship or relocation support.

The PayPal Enterprise Integrations team is responsible for providing technical consulting and integration services for the implementation of PayPal’s payment, identity and platform capabilities, as well as representing the wider product set available to major global partners and merchants.

Job Description:

Your way to impact

As an Integration Engineer, you will be providing dedicated integration support to our merchants looking to implement our platform capabilities into their e-commerce systems, to ensure solutions are integrated in an expedited fashion whilst adhering to best practices. Through the delivery of robust integrations, you will be supporting commercial stakeholders to achieve business targets for the local business unit.

Your day-to-day

In your day-to-day role, you will:

Be a trusted partner with commercial stakeholders

  • Work closely with Sales and Account Managers to align on the delivery of solutions for our merchants
  • Keep stakeholders informed of significant updates to progress, enabling accurate forecasting of solution delivery.

Deliver world-class Integration support for merchants

  • Ensure merchants are correctly set up in non-production environments to allow them to develop and test their integrations effectively
  • Provide expert guidance on the use of our APIs and SDKs to ensure functionality is being exercised in the correct way and in accordance to best practices
  • Support trouble-shooting by leveraging knowledge and tools to find the root cause for problems encountered during integration
  • Engage with the Product and engineering teams to report bugs and drive for timely resolution.
  • Ensure successful launch of integrations into production

Be the voice of the customer

  • Act as the voice of the customer, bringing insights relating to our products, documentation, and service back into the business to help drive scalable improvements

Collaborate with Enterprise Integrations teammates across geographies

  • Work with peers to evolve existing systems and processes, or drive new innovations to increase the value we can bring to the organisation and improve the service we can provide to our customers.

What do you need to bring?

You’ll have a passion for technology and problem-solving, with a customer-first mindset driving you to deliver exceptional outcomes for our customers. You bring:

  • Web and mobile technologies, including Web Services, APIs, REST, HTML/HTTP, iOS, Android and leading web and mobile application frameworks.
  • Experience in multiple major programming languages
  • Ability to successfully interact and dynamically adapt to communication styles with all levels of clients, organisations, including C-level executives, middle management, finance and operations, technical/IT staff, and line personnel
  • Ability to translate requirements into detailed design and solution documents.
  • Ability to quickly assess and troubleshoot most integration issues
  • Effective time management skills are required to work with multiple external customers concurrently.
  • Strong presentation skills (Presenting to Business units and Technical teams)
  • Ideally Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in finance and computer science.
