Your Impact:

In a Development Management role at OpenText you will provide project management and leadership on medium to large scale projects with internal and direct customer impact. Responsible for day-to-day management of Engineering team to ensure technical quality, product quality, and efficient use of resources. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and within agreed upon quality standards. Work closely with cross-functional teams within OpenText and partner with key stakeholders.

What the role offers:

As a Manager, Software Development you will:

  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards.
  • Partner with Product, Architecture, and Operations teams to ensure successful project delivery and launch.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, coding excellence, automation, and continuous process improvement.
  • Manage team performance, talent development, and resource planning through structured People Resource processes.
  • Maintain effective communication, proactively escalate issues, and lead Steering Committee meetings with senior leadership.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by managing expectations, delivering value, and maintaining comprehensive project documentation.

What you need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of related experience, including 5+ years in development and 1+ year in an Engineering leadership role.
  • Strong design and coding expertise with hands-on experience in JAVA/J2EE technologies.
  • Proficient in frontend development using JavaScript (Vue.js, React, Angular), CSS, and HTML.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, microservices, and knowledge of cloud hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
  • Background in Analytics, Business Intelligence, eDiscovery, Content Analytics, or Big Data is advantageous.
  • Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills with extensive Agile Scrum project management experience.
