The Instructional Systems Technologist II (IST II) joins an energetic Instructional Systems & Technology Team in their mission to provide advanced level support for meeting/collaboration space technologies, and development of technology-enhanced training initiatives in a hospital setting.
The primary role of the IST II is to assist with the utilization and operation of the audiovisual systems and infrastructure installed in training/meeting/collaboration spaces across multiple buildings and campuses, as well as work with vendors in the maintenance, both preventative and real-time, of all equipment in those spaces.
This position may also be engaged in video conferences, live-streaming, live AV event support, and video production, across a range of unique spaces and equipment configurations, as well as quickly responding to priority issues for troubleshooting and immediate resolution.
The position coordinates training/meeting/collaboration space needs with clinical managers/staff, information technology managers/staff, representatives, and other resources. The IST II will also monitor the use of spaces and AV systems/processes using software tools, tracking, and reporting on trends and ensuring quality assurance testing of AV equipment.
Education
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree in Electronics, Audio Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
Preferred Qualifications
A bachelor's or master’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
Experience
Minimum Qualifications
3-5 years of directly related experience working in a hospital, healthcare, university, or enterprise setting with high uptime requirements.
Video conferencing solutions, such as Cisco telepresence systems, Webex Meetings, Webex Teams, or Zoom.
Media control and monitoring systems, (e.g., Crestron), codecs, switchers, and audio DSPs.
Familiarity with AV-over-IP technologies, room scheduling systems, and integrated control environments.
Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking as it applies to AV.
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of experience designing, supporting, and integrating AV systems and equipment.
Ability to read and comprehend AV system drawings, specifications, technical manuals as well as (wall elevations, RCP’s, room layouts, system schematics, etc.).
Familiarity with audiovisual asset management platforms and remote monitoring tools.
Experience supporting lecture capture systems (e.g., YuJa, Panopto), digital whiteboards (e.g., Cisco Webex Board, Logitech Scribe), and hybrid meeting tools.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex AV and networked systems under pressure.
Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
Preferred:
CTS; AQAV CQD; Dante level 1-2; a plus.
