The Float Nurse will work under the supervision of the Manager and/or Director to deliver direct patient care following the American Nurses Association (ANA) standards of practice, Ohio Revised Code, and Holzer Nursing Model of Care.
The Float Nurse will be responsible for scheduling their shifts on the float schedule to reflect when they are available to work. Based on where the greatest need for shift coverage is, the float nurse will be assigned to work in one of the following departments: cardiac care, medical/surgical care, or patient rehabilitation prior to the start of their shift. If the need for coverage changes at any point during this shift, the float nurse may be reassigned to cover that need. Float Nurses with specific competencies in specialized areas, may work in those units.
