STARTING HOURLY RATE: $16.41 - $17.16 (PLACEMENT DEPENDS ON SIMILAR EXPERIENCE HELD AND EDUCATION)

SUMMARY:
The Bus Assistant works with the Bus Driver to monitor students to ensure the students’ safety and keep the bus clean. Operates a wheelchair lift and assists students with entering and exiting the school bus.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training, and Experience Guidelines:
High School diploma or GED equivalent; AND six months of experience assisting adults or children with special needs preferred; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Possess an active Arizona Department of Public Safety IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card or obtain one within the first 90 workdays of employment.
License and Certification Requirements:
Must possess current Red Cross first aid certificate and CPR certificate at time of employment or obtain within first 10 days of employment and maintain on a current status.
Must possess a valid Arizona Department of Public Safety IVP Fingerprint clearance card within 90 days of employment.
IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND ABILITIES
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed on a school bus along designated routes. Work requires climbing up and down bus stairs, bending, kneeling, crouching or stooping, pulling, and may require lifting up to 100 pounds. May be exposed to hot and cold temperatures, hazardous
chemicals, and infectious diseases.
