Amazon is building the next generation shopping experience, with a massive collection of inventory from various brands, so customers have a seamless shopping experience. Today the online shopper faces challenges on multiple fronts: discovering interesting items in a sea of products, evaluating fit, assessing cut and other style details.

As part of Amazon Fashion's technology team, you'll help create next-generation shopping experiences that solve critical customer challenges, including product discovery, fit assessment, and style visualization. We're transforming how customers interact with fashion online through innovative technical solutions.

The Technology

In order to achieve our vision, we think big and tackle technology problems that have little precedence. Where technology does not exist, we will build it. Where it exists we will need to modify it to make it work at Amazon scale. As the problem is so wide and the team new, we need members who are passionate and willing to learn:

• Spacial Computing. A key focus is 3D technology such as LiDar, Photogrammetry, 3D rendering and VR, leveraging programing languages such as Java, Python, TypeSript, BabylonJS, React etc.
• User interface & web development. We will create beautiful and dynamic front-end experiences that require deep knowledge of relevant technologies such as AngularJS, JQuery, Horizonte, AUI, etc.
• Amazon scale systems. All our technology needs to work at Amazon scale, serving hundreds of millions of customers with millisecond level latencies.
• Big data & analytics. Amazon is data driven and a strong data backbone is necessary in our systems. We build upon core AWS services such as EC2, S3, DynamoDB, etc.

Key job responsibilities

• Make good design decisions, write solid code and build the cornerstones of our key platforms.
• Build end-to-end experiences for our customers, across multiple Amazon sites.
• Work across Amazon to creatively leverage existing services and APIs for our product
• Work with category leaders and product managers to build features used by millions of people every day, and be proud of it.
• Solve complex problems that have a large and direct impact to customers and high visibility.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
