NTU Student Affairs Office (SAO) seeks to achieve its mission of collaborating and co-creating a meaningful and enriching student life experience with its partners via promoting students' personal growth through co-curricular learning arising from student-led activities, leadership development initiatives, residential hall programmes, inclusion and integration efforts, community engagement initiatives and sports.

The Senior Assistant Manager partners the Lead in all strategic and operational aspects of Postgraduate (PG) School-based Student Clubs. This position requires a dynamic individual who can serve as an educator, facilitator, and administrator to support student development and enhance the student life experience for PG students. The Senior Assistant Manager will work closely with various stakeholders, including student leaders, faculty members, and administrative teams, to create a vibrant, inclusive, and development-focused student community.

Key responsibilities:

Student Development, Club Oversight & Governance

  • Serve as the primary liaison for 19 PG School-based student clubs, providing strategic guidance and administrative support.
  • Build student leaders’ capacity through mentoring and on-the-job guidance.
  • Establish frameworks for student-led governance, ensuring accountability, inclusiveness, and alignment with university policies.
  • Provide strategic guidance on risk management, financial stewardship, and sustainable operations for student clubs.
  • Utilize data analytics and feedback mechanisms to assess the impact of student-led initiatives and improve engagement strategies.

Student Engagement, Inclusion & Wellbeing

  • Develop and implement initiatives that strengthen Undergraduate (UG) and PG student interaction and collaboration, ensuring an inclusive campus culture.
  • Take lead in coordinating a series of centralised engagement programs that foster a sense of belonging, well-being, and personal growth for students from diverse background.
  • Support student-led events and initiatives that align with broader student life and well-being objectives.

Stakeholder Engagement & Institutional Collaboration

  • Act as key liaison between NTU Academy of Professional and Continuing Education (NTU Pace), Graduate College and Schools to co-create student experience for PG Students.
  • Strengthen partnerships with faculty, student leaders, alumni networks, and external organizations to enhance student development opportunities.
  • Facilitate dialogues and structured feedback mechanisms to understand student needs and enhance their overall university experience.
  • Represent SAO in university-wide committees and initiatives related to student engagement, leadership, and holistic development.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any related field from a recognised University.
  • At least 5 years of working experience which involves considerable interaction with students.
  • Experience in the tertiary education sector will be advantageous.
  • Good working knowledge on co-curricular development in the higher education.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills, to foster collaboration and active engagement with Student Club Leaders.
  • Effective interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills (Written and Verbal), to establish and maintain positive relationships with diverse groups.
  • Strong drive to initiate, plan, implement and deliver Student Engagement initiatives.
  • Ability to handle unforeseen challenges and crises with a composed and solution-focused mindset.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office application software.
  • Independent and resourceful with a passion in student development.
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team to achieve goals.
