Our engineering team work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where no two days are the same. This is a rare opportunity to work with some of the industries brightest engineers on our landmark project – LAND 400 Ph2. Rheinmetall Defence Australia is currently seeking two Software Engineers to join the team in South-East Queensland.

About the Role

The Software Engineer will work as an integral part of the engineering team, delivering software development and integration in-line with the deliverable requirements for LAND 400 Ph2. The successful candidates will lean on their experience from previous roles working within an ASDEFCON framework to ensure timely delivery of all contracted deliverables.

The Software Engineer/s will utilise their toolbox of soft skills to encourage collaboration between teams to ensure effective and efficient delivery of customer needs and requirements. The successful candidates will possess clear communication skills to effectively communicate with relevant internal and external stakeholders.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:

• Experience in development and integration of Software using Python and/or C++;
• Experience integrating and testing hardware and software components in complex systems;
• Comfortable working in development environments (such as Linux) with Virtual Machines;
• Experience in TCP/IP-based networking;
• Experience with Qt including QML;
• Experience with Distributed Data Services such as RTI Connext or Vortex OpenSplice; and
• Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required).
