The Yard Driver will be responsible for moving trailers around the yard and backing them in and out of various dock doors. You will also assist with daily yard inventories and temperature checks.
Shift: 5p-5:30a, 4 days a week
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Must have a valid Driver’s license (Class A)
- Ability to perform daily yard inventories of trailers available
- Check oil and belts on refrigerated trailers
- Move trailers in the yard and back them into open dock doors efficiently
- Ability to work in cold temperatures
- Assists in loading and unloading product
- Follows all company policies and procedures regarding GMPs, SOPs and Quality standards
- Effectively utilize time available to achieve results through prioritizing load out needs
- Maintains an air of professionalism and communicates effectively
- Demonstrates problem solving and decision making ability, as needed
- Must demonstrate proficiency in essential tasks of the job and a willingness to learn
- Other duties as assigned or required
Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be frequently exposed moving mechanical parts and forklifts.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to heat / wet / humid / cold conditions from both weather and non-weather.
- The noise level in the work environment may be loud.
- The employee is required to stand, walk and sit.
- The employee may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
