Summary:

Manages the inventory tracking system to evaluate deliveries, shipments and stock levels. Monitors and verifies overall inventory financial values and adjustments. Supports the planning, design, development, build and/or configuration of warehouse and supported applications/systems for inventory management purposes; leads and/or coordinates item conversions; participates and provides input in training design and development of inventory management practices and controls.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing, refining, and maintaining inventory control procedures, policies and protocols. Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate product is available to support operations; establish routines to assess and review inventory levels based on utilization data, item conversion knowledge, market shifts and trends, shortages, substitutions, inventory turns, and lead times; establish formal and informal coordination points with the inventory planner and buyer to anticipate inventory control actions that mitigate losses associated with non-moving and expirable product. Monitors quality metrics and changes that impact clinical, financial or operational outcomes and develops action plans to address areas for improvement.
  • Proactively and expertly drafts messages that are accurate, timely, comprehensive and have clear action and decision prompts. Memos are required to support situational awareness, and recommendations for procedural improvements, system improvements and end user item use alterations. Vendor communication is coordinated with the appropriate purchasing contact.
  • System Production Support and Maintenance: On call support (support calendar defined by Group or application suite, pager required); assist in ensuring the integrity, integration, and stability of production system; Formulating system scope and objectives to develop or modify complex system designs; Working closely with IT resources during upgrades and issue resolutions; Troubleshoot application, process and technical issues; Complete documentation as needed; Coordinate and complete tasks during unplanned downtimes including system maintenance; Support training of Supply Chain staff and end-users as needed; Stay current with new application functionality and enhancements; Consult vendor support sites, discussion forums, and other sources to identify leading practices for problem resolution; Utilize vendor support site to log issues for assistance in resolution; Coordinate with Group Manager and System Administrators and customer departments to implement recommended solutions; and Other duties as assigned.
  • Project Assignments: Determine and recommend optimal system utilization to meet the system’s need to best manage inventory, inventory transactions, item additions and conversions, item attributes, item organization, and overall space optimization; Consult vendor support sites, discussion forums, and other sources to identify leading practices for implementation of systems; determine or collaborate with supply chain system administrators to build requirements for system software, hardware, interfaces, and application integration; Coordinate and manage systems monitoring and performance enhancement activities to ensure optimal system performance and standards; Establish service level agreement metrics for supported systems based on identified objectives to meet quality standards; Provide application expertise during planning and design.
  • Administrative: Monitor daily order flows through Supply Chain Systems; Monitor monthly productivity including item master, EDI, BlueBin, Tecsys and/or Infor; Perform data analyses to identify root causes for isolated and recurring issues; Collaborate fully with Supply Chain teammates to expedite data interpretation, action plans and action assignments; Attend departmental meetings; Participate in departmental activities; Other duties as assigned.

How You’ll Be Successful:

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • At least 5 years Direct experience related to the same or similar inventory management systems within a Supply Chain environment (healthcare or non-healthcare) Req

EDUCATION

  • Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Req
